Violin

Jane (Hyeonjin) Cho, one of the six finalists in the 16thWieniawski International Violin Competition in 2022, began playing the violinat the age of 6. In 2006, she took up a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School inEngland where she studied with Professor Liutsia Ibragimova.

In 2012, Jane took up a place in the University of MusicPerforming Arts in Graz with Professor Boris Kuschnir. Her talent wasrecognized in 2011 when she was nominated as one of the most promisingmusicians by the esteemed Kumho Asiana group in Korea, leading to numerousacclaimed performances across South Korea.

In 2015, Jane was personally invited by Augustin Dumay toparticipate in a masterclass at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris. Thisremarkable experience opened doors to the prestigious Queen Elisabeth MusicChapel, where she found guidance and inspiration under the mentorship ofAugustin Dumay.

Since then she has participated in projects with distinguishedartists and mentors such as Gary Hoffman, Miguel da Silva, Frank Braley andPavel Vernikov. Notably, she was invited by the Kronberg Academy for the‘Chamber Music Connects the World’ in 2016, performing alongside artists suchas Gidon Kremer and Christian Tetzlaff. Wanting to pursue her passion forchamber music, Jane then went on to participate in the Seiji Ozawa Academy inSwitzerland under the mentorship of Nobuko Imai, Sadao Harada and Pamela Frank.

In 2019, Jane recorded her debut CD featuring the Debussyquartet, collaborating with the likes of Augustin Dumay, Miguel da Silva, andHenri Demarquette. The accolades continued in 2021 when she secured the 2ndprize at the 28th KBS KEPCO Music Competition in South Korea.

Having earned her Solo Violin Artist Diploma from the QueenElisabeth Music Chapel under the guidance of Augustin Dumay, Jane went ontostudy at the Royal College of Music in London, where she graduated with FirstClass Bmus(Hons) honors under the guidance of Mark Messenger and AlexanderGilman.

Jane has recently received her Masters of Music degree atThe Juilliard School under the tutelage of Professor Catherine Cho. Herartistry has been recognized, earning her an invitation to participate in theFour Seasons Festival in 2023, and her most recent collaboration includesworking with Hilary Hahn as part of the ‘Who’s in the Lobby?’ series at TheJuilliard School.
